Christen glauben an einen Gott. Im Gegensatz zum Judentum und zum Islam ist es im Christentum aber etwas komplizierter. Im christlichen Glaubensbekenntnis, das sonntags in den Kirchen der Welt gesprochen wird, heißt es:

“Ich glaube an Gott, den Vater […], den Schöpfer …

und an Jesus Christus, den einzigen geborenen Sohn …

Ich glaube an den Heiligen Geist …”

Also drei Götter? Eine heilige Familie?

“Nein” würden Christen sagen, “das ist die ‘Dreieinigkeit’, auch ‘Dreifaltigkeit’ genannt. Das ist nur ein Gott.” Wie ist das nun zu verstehen?

Ich als Java-Entwickler stelle es mir vereinfacht so vor: Es sind drei “Interfaces”, “Gott, der Vater”, “Jesus” und der “Heilige Geist”. Wir kennen die Interfaces, aber wir kennen nicht die Implementierung. Wer könnte schon die Implementierung Gottes verstehen?

Also nur ein Gott und drei Betrachtungsweisen?

Der Bibelschreiber Johannes gibt uns einen kleinen Einblick in das Innenverhältnis Gottes. Nicht dass wir es dadurch wirklich verstehen könnten, aber wir sehen einen kleinen Ausschnitt, wie bei einem Blick durchs Schlüsselloch.

Gott, der Vater ist der Schöpfer? Ja, und doch nicht ganz:
Durch Jesus wurde alles geschaffen. Joh 1,3
Und: Der Heilige Geist war auch involviert. 1.Mose 1,2
Jesus und der Vater sind eins. Joh 10,30
Wenn Du wissen willst, wie Gott, der Vater, ist, dann schau, wie Jesus ist. Joh 12,45
Jesus tut oder sagt nichts, ohne die völlige Übereinstimmung mit dem Willen des Vaters. Joh 5,19 und Joh 14,10
Jesus hat die Vollmacht und Autorität bekommen, den Willen von Gott auszuführen. Joh 5,22

Offensichtlich sind die drei so eng und so dicke miteinander, “da passt kein Blatt dazwischen”.

Schon seit vor dem Beginn der Zeit umkreisen Gott-Vater, der Sohn und der Heilige Geist einander in gegenseitiger Liebe, Ehrerbietung und Unterordnung. Keiner tut etwas ohne den anderen, ständig sind sie miteinander in innigster Weise verbunden.

Wir können uns das nicht vorstellen, es ist ein Geheimnis.
